Gobustan: a journey into the Stone Age. The State Historical-Artistic Reserve Gobustan, located 60 kilometres south of Baku, is a unique monument of global significance that was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007. The State Historical-Artistic Reserve Gobustan also has the earliest people's burial sites, relics of a vast ancient cromlech, and other testimony concerning the region's occupants throughout the Stone Age and later times. The museum's collection includes more than 100,000 archaeological items. Many unique artefacts, tools from the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic periods, animated representations, and multimedia materials allow visitors to view the breadth of natural changes in Gobustan, the geography of human settlements, and learn about ancient people's culture and thoughts.

The Bibi-Heybat Mosque is a historic structure in Baku, Azerbaijan. The current edifice, constructed in the 1990s, is a reconstruction of the same-named mosque erected in the 13th century by Shirvanshah Farrukhzad II Ibn Ahsitan II and entirely destroyed by the Bolsheviks in 1936. The Bibi-Heybat Mosque, which features the grave of Ukeyma Khanum (a descendent of Muhammad), serves as a spiritual hub for the region's Muslims and is one of Azerbaijan's important Islamic architectural masterpieces. It is known locally as "the mosque of Fatima," as recounted by Alexandre Dumas on his visit in the 1840s.
